What’d You Have in Mind?

Here’s what we’re thinking for activities.

Saturday, June 29: Arrivals and Easy Dinner

Most flights from the West Coast coming into Newark, La Guardia or JFK will land between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., depending on how early you or the kids all want to get up. The drive from LGA and Newark will be a little less than two hours, depending on traffic, and from JFK will be about a half hour longer. So that gets you to Warwick between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.

  • You can always come into NYC on Friday and drive up at your leisure on Saturday

  • We'll have an easy dinner ready on Saturday for everyone when they arrive.

Sunday, June 30: Late Arrivals, Orientation and Gardening Class!

If you want to fly on Saturday, stay somewhere near the airport or in the city and come up Sunday morning, that works too! There's also a very easy bus from NYC to Warwick (see “Getting Here”).

  • We'll give a camp orientation once everyone is here

  • Activity: Uncle Ryan's Gardening Class

  • Also available each day: T-Shane's Queen Acres Qraft Making

  • Outdoor movie night

Monday, July 1: Dance Class and Music Class

  • (To Be Confirmed): Uncle Dan teaches Music, Uncle Pat teaches Dance

  • Also available each day: T-Shane's Queen Acres Qraft Making

  • Outdoor movie night

Tuesday, July 2: To Be Determined

  • Could be cute to do like a play or something, but could also just leave this one free

  • Also available each day: T-Shane's Queen Acres Qraft Making

  • Outdoor movie night

Wednesday, July 3: Queen Acres Goes to Legoland!

Thursday, July 4: Queen Acres Fourth of July Cookout + Field Day

  • Hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, sparklers, etc.

  • Sack races, and all that kind of bullshit they used to make us do in elementary school

  • Outdoor movie night

Friday, July 5: Departures

  • Take your time getting out

  • Anybody that wants to stay in the city for a couple days can do that, or head back home. There’s also a lot of fun stuff to do elsewhere in upstate New York, so if you want recommendations, we’ve got plenty!
